Awhile ago I saw a DIY blog post on dying shoes. I thought it sounded like oodles of fun, so I bought some cheapo $5 shoes from Wal-Mart and planned to dye them first chance I got.
They sat in my room for MONTHS. Those poor shoes waited patiently for me to come around and complete their make-over.
The poor dears awaited that time for naught. I never did get around to them. Instead my genius sister (No, really) suggested I draw on them. It was an attractive idea. Out came the sharpies. Then a rather wobbly puzzle pattern....
For my first try, I was ridiculously proud of myself. :D (By the way, the quality is horrid for some of the photos because I only got pictures of the shoes with my phone)
Next pair of shoes got sun flowers for my sissy with a sunny disposition.
Then an Irish inspired flower for my sister who happens to be in love with Ireland.
I had so much fun with it that I ordered several pairs of shoes more just to play around with to figure out different technics for drawing on them and making them last longer.

Possibly my favorite pair of shoes I have done so far. I love vintage patterns passionately.

These had been worn hundreds of times in their boring state before I redid them.
...And this pair was for a friend.
